This week, we’re sharing news of some great EAL events that are coming next month, in Oxford, Hull and Leeds.
We’re coming into the summer conference season, so don’t forget to check your copy of the EAL Journal for full listings (it’s on page 9). If you’re not a NALDIC member, then join now! The next issue comes out in less than two weeks and you won’t want to miss out.
MULTILINGUAL LEARNERS IN CONTEXT –
EAL, community and international school settings
17 June, Oxford Brookes University.
This one-day symposium brings together academics and practitioners to engage in dialogue about the experiences of multilingual learners and their teachers in a variety of contexts (mainstream schools, community or supplementary schools, and international schools) with a view to examining the commonalities and particularities of these contexts.
We anticipate that the symposium will facilitate knowledge exchange that will, in turn, enhance understanding of the needs of these learners and lead to positive actions in supporting their learning.
Confirmed guest speakers:
Jim Anderson (Goldsmiths, University of London)
Mary Hayden (University of Bath)
Constant Leung (King’s College London)
Vicky Macleroy (Goldsmiths, University of London)
