We are thrilled to invite you to our second Special Interest Group (SIG) specifically for EAL/ESL/ELL educators in international schools.
As this is an international organisation there will be two online meetings for members:
Meeting 1: 14:00-15:00 (Central European Time)
Meeting 2: 16:00-17:00 (Central European Time)
Agenda
Many thanks to those who completed the survey about EAL issues we could focus on. Here are the top four most popular topics so we plan to organise this year’s meetings around these.
- Working with subject teachers & planning
- Translanguaging, using home languages/mother tongue & speaking skill development
- EAL students with challenges in literacy
- Admissions & role of EAL
We will be focussing on how EAL teachers work with subject teachers and classroom teachers to support EAL students. So we will begin with a quick overview to focus, and then we will break into breakout rooms so we can chat and share with colleagues. This will be a fantastic opportunity for you to put forward your questions, get practical advice from other EAL professionals, and help other EAL educators.
If you want to join this meeting and/or future meetings, sign up here to become a member of the NALDIC International School SIG group.
