Theme: Bridge the gap: Enriching students with primary language & EAL techniques
Convenor/s: Karen Thomas, Anna Tsakalaki & Sarah Coles
Host: NALDIC Zoom
NALDIC’s Regional Interest Groups help teachers and other education professionals working with EAL learners to get together, stay informed about developments in the EAL field and share best practice.
This session aims to look at approaches and strategies used by MFL and EAL teachers within schools and to shine a light on the similarities between the two. The session also looks to investigate opportunities to share best practice between these two areas for the benefit of all pupils.
It will be delivered by Marie Allen.
Marie works as an adviser for the Ethnic Minority Achievement Service (EMAS) in Portsmouth.
Marie originally trained as a secondary teacher and taught PE and MFL and then later moved to the primary sector. She has been a Lead Practitioner and Specialist Leader in Education and has experience of working in schools both in the city and in Hampshire.
