Theme: EAL pupils: networks and transitions
Convenor/s: EAL Coordinators SIG
Theme
The start of a new school year involves many transitions ….. moving from primary to secondary, moving from KS3 to KS4 and the start of formal examination study, perhaps moving to a new school. How does your school support pupils in these transitions and what is the role of the EAL teacher and coordinator in ensuring that their pupils have the best possible start in September 2024.
In this meeting, we will be looking at the networks outside of school that can connect with your multilingual pupils, as well as systems and strategies we can put in place at school to ensure smooth transitions.
