The Head of the School of Education, following the order from the Vice Chancellor has closed the university to non-staff from this Wednesday (18th March 2020) until further notice. We are moving to ‘remote’ teaching via our VLE but there’s no way we can get around the cancellation of all non-essential meetings with more than 3 people, so we sadly have to postpone the RIG – please ‘hold’ Thursday 18th June 4.30 here at UofR provisionally and we’ll wait and see, as that’s all we can do at this stage.
Thank you for your understanding.
Date: Thursday 18th June, Time: 16:30 – 18:30
Venue: University of Roehampton, London, SW15 5PJ*
Theme: Sharing our professional practice
We invite you to attend the second meeting of our newly re-launched South London RIG. We are again hosting at the University of Roehampton. NALDIC is the national subject association for English as an Additional Language.
This meeting represents a unique opportunity to explore a mixture of research and ‘good practice’ with an opportunity to network with colleagues working with EAL and multilingual learners of at all ‘ages and stages’ of language acquisition.
Our agenda will include:
- Updates on recent important information from NALDIC
- Our guest speaker Dr Lucy Henning (University of Roehampton) will present some of her
current research on children’s classroom communication practices
- Students and staff from our MA programme will discuss their current research on
assessment of multilingual learners in an Early Years setting
- Further information on training and consultancy for schools from the Bell Foundation and
- Networking with colleagues about what is happening in participants’ schools, settings and
organisations involved with EAL learners.
There is no charge for attending this event. If you wish to attend, please send an email to:
