Venue: Manchester Metropolitan University | Manchester

Guest Speaker:
Pura Ariza | An exciting project focusing on promoting and understanding plurilingualism
Pura is a senior lecturer in education. The project’s aim is to support schools in building on the strengths that exist in multilingual schools and, through this, to strengthen the whole school community.
Plus opportunities for networking with like-minded colleagues and sharing EAL practice.
If you are able to offer any other input for the meeting, or for either of the future meetings, please do get in touch. Items linking to ideas around plurilingualism and multilingualism would be great but we’re always interested in any items that share current research and good practice or help to raise awareness of issues relating to EAL.
All are welcome, you do not need to be a NALDIC member to attend. Refreshments from 15:30.

Renaming our Regional Interest Group
As another RIG has recently been set up in the north west region (Lancashire and Cumbria), we think it’s a good idea to change our group name from NALDIC North WEST to reflect this. We’ve chosen ‘Greater Manchester’ because the vast majority of our members work within this area, although we do have one or two very determined members who travel to our meetings from further afield. Hopefully the new name will be acceptable to everyone.
