Theme: Developing Reading Fluency: Bridging Decoding and Comprehension
Convenors: Diane Embley and Rashda Salamat
For all staff with an interest in EAL learners. Feel free to join the session online or in-person. Regional Interest Groups (RIGs), run by volunteer NALDIC members, are free CPD networks for educators supporting pupils who use English as an Additional Language (EAL). They foster collaboration across schools, universities, and local authorities by sharing research, good practice, and updates on current
issues. As EAL learner numbers grow, especially among refugee populations, RIGs fill the gap left
by reduced government support and training, addressing varied regional needs and promoting
professional development in an evolving educational landscape.
Delegates will have opportunities to share research, best practices, and updates on current issues.
