Theme: Promoting and celebrating first language and using first language to support learning
NALDIC Special Interest Groups (SIGs) have developed in response to requests from members who want to raise the profile of EAL and bilingualism in a specific area of interest.
Speaker/Agenda:
Soofia Amin is Assistant Head Teacher and EAL and Community Lead at Kensington Primary School. I recommend following her on Twitter @soofia_amin to get a taste of the way she works with colleagues to incorporate languages- her work is inspiring!
Gosia Bates is a former university teacher in Poland and an Advisory teacher in Cambridge. Gosia will share her experience of use of first language and also will be discussing first language GCSEs. I recommend a Twitter follow too: @lingosia, where Gosia generously shares her wealth of EAL experience.
