Description
This edition of NALDIC Quarterly focuses on EAL teacher professionalism. There is summary of a recent article by Margaret Hawkins, which sets out the main influences on classroom practices from a sociocultural perspective. This is followed by practitioner responses to some of the issues. As well, there is a book review of a collection of papers on teacher education edited by Margaret Hawkins which also takes a sociocultural approach. It is hoped that this introduction to her work will attract colleagues to NALDIC’s annual conference in November where Margaret Hawkins will be the keynote speaker.
