Description
The articles and book reviews that follow in this edition are by those who have extensive experience in International Schools: some have a spent a lifetime in them teaching, managing, giving workshops, serving on accreditation teams, writing books and articles, and speaking at conferences. It has been my aim throughout my career to ensure that Second Language Learners are given the best educational programmes that can be provided, based on available research evidence and pedagogical models. As can be seen from the conference notes (p37, last two paragraphs) on the most recent “ECIS ESL and Mother Tongue Conference” held in Geneva in 2008, the struggle is far from over, and this is reflected in the writings of many of the contributors to this NALDIC Quarterly.
